Looks Like Another Long Season

Tomorrow, my Baltimore Orioles kick off the 2012 season with a 3 game series at home against the Minnesota Twins.  The O’s hitting is good, With Mark Reynolds and J.J. Hardy each coming off of 30 Home Run seasons, Adam Jones poised to have a breakout season, and Nick Markakis being his steady self.  The problem as it has been the past 15 years, it pitching.  If Jake Arrieta can increase his wins from 10 to maybe 13-14, newcomer Jason Hammel give his usual 180 innings, Zach Britton, who had a    pretty good year as a rookie comes back from the DL ready to go, Brian Matusz keeps his head on straight after a historically bad season (an almost 11.00 ERA) Tommy Hunter regains his form that let him have 13 wins for a Texas Rangers team  and pitch in the World Series 2 years ago,  and if new comer Wei-Yin Chen has a decent season, we might be ok.  Our bullpen is fine with Jim Johnson leading the way in his first full year as a closer.  If the pitching fails, it’s going to be ugly…..
